ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    blue smoke?

Alright so I have a 93 Honda accord an when I start the car blue smoke comes out and after about 5mins of driving blue smoke comes out only in 1st gear all the time. My thought is worn valve seals but I can be wrong

Blue Smoke is burning oil. A lot of the time it is the valve guides or seals but it could also be something else, but I doubt it.

Open up your radiator Cap when your motor is totally cooled down. Tell us what is in there after if there is a white residue stuff you have a blown head gasket and there would be a lot of smoke coming out of your exhaust.

Water burning is white smoke, not blue smoke.

I know, usually when you have a lot of smoke coming out of your exhaust and at the same time you have milk in your radiator, you have a blown head gasket

x2 on the valve guide and seals, could be also rings, but most of the time its valve guides/seals

I know on small bock chevys you can basically hook an air compressor up to where the spark plug goes to pressurize the chamber, then once you take the valve spring off the valve will not fall down into the piston. Then you can change the seat and guide. But that I only know works for my SBC, I however do not know if it will work on our f22's.

People do it on hondas aswell. Honestly it seems easier to me to take the topend off, but i've never did it with the head on.

Ya I was just saying I did not know if you could. But I have done it on a small block chevy before. It is actually really easy.

I think if you know everything else is good (basically your head gasket) I would see no reason to take the whole head off when you can replace the guides and seals in the car with minimal dismantlement. But if you suspect you could fix a couple things by taking the head off, by all means that would be a good time to do it.

When I upgraded the valve springs in my Cummins I just rotated the engine around until that piston was at TDC or close to it then the valve would sit on top of the piston and have no where else to go.

I used a spring compressor, compressed the spring and the valve would drop as you were compressing it... when your rotate the engine you'll see the valve start to rise when it and piston start to touch each other.
