ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    38 Mpg?

I drive a 92 lx all stock except for an sri. I was on the highway for 278 miles and filled up all the way to 7.2 gallons which comes out to about 38 mpg. I figured this could be an error on the pump but ive achieved 37 mpg before. Not that this is a problem but is there any particular reason it can come out this high?

You drive like Ms. Daisy, and you never do more then 55/60 on the highway?

Any way to improve MPG on an H without hurting performance? Other than having to drive like Ms.Daisy lol.

Tune ups are obviously the first step, but maybe any modifications that may help is well? Certain sized exhaust for example, would it help to upgrade my exhaust system for better MPG. You get what I'm trying to ask?

Question: Are your rims and tires OEM spec?

If not, your odometer may be wrong, causing your MPG calculations to be incorrect. Also 'topping-off' your tank will throw off the calculations even more...just food for thought here.

38mpg does seem high, but not impossible. We have a 17gallon tank. I usually average 425miles from fill-up to low-fuel light...Mixed driving.

yeah 14" steelies and my odometer was right because the gps also said 278. I also never top off. One thing i did notice was that the engine temp gauge was on the line towards the c.

could just be a bad connection at the gauge. mine used to drop until i changed the connector because the old one got loose and soaked in oil from the distributor seal.

that means your thermostat is broken. Its stuck open causing you to overcool your engine. You may get even better mileage with the engine in its proper operating temperature.

I had this same thing happen to my daily cb7. The temp needle just barely got over the C. I bought a Honda thermostat with gasket for about 26 bucks.

If I drive slow I have seen 32 all around mileage. But I hate driving slow so I see like 25-28 most of the time.
