Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Battery Dying, autozone says its good??

Well i bought a new battery with warranty from autozone, lasted a couple days and it died, completely. Then i took to autozone to check it out, they said it needed charging, so they charged it for one hour, said battery is good. Put the battery back and the car started right away, still starts now but barely, battery is dying again, once its running it runs with fine. Could it be my alternator? or something else?

i noticed the negative cable has a extra cable going to the fenderwall, that cable is broken, could that be the problem?

Sounds like a ground came loose or broke, from what you were describing. Check that first.

Sounds like your car is killing the battery.

That little ground that is going to the fender broke on my car too(The battery tie downs usually don't survive 20 years so people just sit the battery in there and it breaks that little ground when you turn too hard) My battery runs fine without that little ground. I would suggest buying a battery tie down from a jy, and possibly replace that whole negative cable that I believe goes down to the transmission

I would fix the ground wire. If that doesn't help then I would get your alternator looked at.
I don't know a single thing about mechanics, but I can take anything apart and put it back together from memory.

Have autozone run a test on your electrical. They do it for free. They'll wheel a big ass box out to your car check your alt, batt, starter, and check for drains all with there little toy.... and its free

                Ditto

An easy check/fix is to make sure the terminals are clean of any corrosion and tightly secured because if they say the battery is good, something is preventing it from taking a charge while the car is running. Bad alt. ideally should through the CEL and if the alt. was shot your car would eventually on you after it was started.

If you want to isolate the battery from your problem then I suggest disconnecting your battery terminals after using your car ( when you dont use your car for an extended period such as overnight).

Then reconnect before starting. If its weak then the battery is faulty (cannot hold charge) if it starts ok then its your car thats the problem (draining the battery un necessarily)

check your ground and make sure its clean. No corrosion. Check your ring terminal that you secure to the battery. Make sure it is cleab and not cracked or warped from being tightened too hard. Ive had to replace mine before. Check the posititve lead that goes from the battery to your alternator and make sure it is connected to your starter properly. And like others sort of mentioned. Make sure theres nothing killing your battery like an after market alarm etc. The smallest things can kill a battery.

Does your battery light on the dash come on while the car is running?

Sounds like your alt is not charging and the car is just running off the battery and the constant starting/stopping and running with any accessories on is killing the battery.

Don't disconnect the battery when the engine is running.
