ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Oil Light

Hi I have already put in two new oil pressure senders from my local parts store. Same store and both have done the same thing.

Heres the story. My 91' has 172000 miles and runs good, it has the normal honda engine sounds but runs good. Today I went for a ride and was parked and when I turned the wheel to leave the oil light came on really dim and flickering. I said to myself oh its just this one time. Then when I got home I let it idle and the light would flicker and maybe come on solid for a second, but any gas turned it off.

My question is are oil pressure senders from other companies then honda apt to fail sooner?
I replaced this less then 3,000 miles ago and the one before that was the same thing about 3,000 miles.

My Honda dealer gave a price of something like $40, but I can get one from my local parts store for $6.

The oil level in the car is good right to the fill mark.

If the light goes off when you press the gas it could be the oil pump :/ or the oil pick up could be clogged or damaged. Is there any sludge in the engine

I let the car sit and let it warm up went for a ride and the light never came back on. I could pretty much stall the car and the light never came on. So im going to let it ride and see if it starts back up. I went through this before and it was the sensor.

So today when I was driving after the car warmed up when I put the clutch in the oil light would come. So I got out and checked the oil and it was really watery. It would drip right off the dipstick like nothing. What could cause this. The car wasn't making any kind of noises so it didn't do anything Should I change the oil? When I give it gas the light would start to blink.

One thing I am going to do is get a mechanical oil gauge to see where its at.
