Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    help with distributor rotor please!

    Hey everyone!
    I can't get my distributor rotor off. It my service manual, it says to just pry with flat head, and pull at sane time. But the rotor they show in theyers isn't the same as mine. I've tried to prying and pulling it off, but no luck. Am I missing something? Or should I pry harder? Thanks!

    STOP PRYING!! Some rotors have a retaining screw on the shaft, look for it before proceeding.

      Thanks for thethe fast response! Im pretty sure there wasn't a set screw... but I'm on my home now, and ill double check. So if there is no set screw, I should go for the pry?

            Careful to not use a shit ton of force, you don't want to damage the inner seal.

              OEM rotors have screws, aftermarket ones do not. The aftermarket ones can often get stuck on there. I've been fortunate to never have one get stuck on my car, but I've had to break junkyard ones in the past (need to remove the rotor and dust cover to access the igniter... and I was stocking up on spares )

                Yea, this is stuck on there with a time weld! I've torn that thing up. Will not come off. Hmm, what to do?

                  Take a torch and melt it off!!!!! ONLY DO THAT IF YOU PROTECT EVERYTHING IN THE DIZZY!!!!! The little metal tab inside the rotor has probably rusted/fused to the inner shaft. Or the dumbass before you put in on backwards.

                    Ill give it a try. I was replace everything but the distributor housing, and igniter anyway.
