Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    tire wear help!?

    i am going through tires like no ones business. it took 2 weeks before my cb ate through to the belts. mostly on the driver side. i have not had the $ to get it properly aligned. so my question is even with camber how long does your tire life last? cuz im assuming there is some toe that would be doing most of my damage. also the car is on blown struts and cut springs (yea i know not my fault ;/) someone told me that if i replace the struts/springs it would have slighly less camber than i do now that the car isnt being properly supported?

    you need an alignment asap.

    also, get rid of that suspension setup you have. if nothing else get junkyard oem springs til you can lower it the right way. just doing that will solve some problems. but nothing like getting a fresh alignment. if theres a firestone around you, id recommend them because for $190 they have LIFETIME alignments. I have it and get it done 1 time a month.

      This is like asking why your dog died, and then saying you didn't have the money to feed it.

      Get new tires.
      Get an alignment.
      Replace those dangerous cut springs.
      Replace those dangerous blown shocks.

      As it is right now, your car is a deathtrap. If it were my car, I wouldn't even drive it until those things were fixed!

        Some Firestones won't touch a lowered vehicle, though... I had to go to two of them (and not reveal the car was modified... I dropped the keys off and left...) The first place I told that the car was lowered, and they refused service.

          Just fix what you know needs to be fixed. You obviously need an alignment, and new suspension, and new tires...

          Park the car and fix it before you wreck the car, kill yourself / endanger other people please.

          Also don't even think of buying ebay coilovers, kyb struts, etc... get yourself a nice set of Koni SRT.T's and some springs with a 1.5" drop if you want to be cheap. Get an alignment, and get some new tires.

            hmm.. never had a problem here and in nc where i was. ive heard of that happening at other places though.

                It's probably corporate policy not to touch a modified vehicle... which makes sense... but most places probably wouldn't mind. Best to not reveal that it's lowered. As long as it goes unsaid, it may not be an issue. As long as they weren't notified beforehand, they can claim that it wasn't modified when they worked on it if something goes wrong. If they're on record saying "oh, it's modified? No problem!" then they could be held responsible if your aftermarket parts fail... such as a cheap-ass ebay camber kit!

                  i just tell em it has a camber kit on it thats it. even then, they wont do shit with it.

                            Ah, ok. So you have a kit that's made for a mild drop, and I assume you're dropped like 3", correct?

                            Most of those anchor bolt kits come in "regular" and "extreme".

                              Lol ya I know I answered my problem. I get 4.29. A hour at my job so funds are low. I guess what I'm asking is what wears most camber toe or both. Its nly wearing bad on the driver side. And I would park it. But my job relies on me driving. Scary sometimes
