ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

New mann fuel filter is in!!! Took like an hour though.
Noticed way better throttle responce. before I would be at 60mph and give it more gas and it would take a second to react. Now its instant. This is sweet

No I just dont use 4 unless I need to. around town theres alot of lights so if im under 40mph i keep it in 3. I'm just weird like that I also turn off light switches that are already in the off position, fold napkins the opposite way when they are pre folded, and do a walk around of my kitchen and living room every morning. I think thats all the weird stuff I do though.... Probly more haha

There's part of your milage issue. Use D4 for normal in-town and highway driving per the owners manual. Under typical in-town driving my car upshifts to 4th at 32mph and will stay in it down to about 25mph. You shouldn't use D3 unless you need to. (extra engine braking down a long hill is about the only reason I can see)

Yah Its not like I literally meant once I get to 40. I just used that as an approximate number. I move it up to 4th when it needs to.

And my spark plugs are probly good changed them like... Idk 5 months ago. But I havent put that many miles on it since then.

                This is awesomely funny.

Does your car have a 'sport' mode button on the shifter? Engage that bad boy, and she wont go into 4th until you hit 40mph. The longer and higher rpm's you run, the lower your gas mileage is going to be.
Another thing you can do to help is be easy on the gas and the brakes. When approaching a light or stop sign, coast for as long as you can instead of zooming up to the light and punching the brakes. Don't take it over 3k rpm if you don't have to.

When I go on a gas mileage kick, I am able to pull up to 20 more miles out of a tank by changing my driving style.

I have been watching my mpg for a year.
I used to drive 45 mins all highway to blackwood nj and i would fill up every 5-6 days depending on weekend driving. I got 350-400+ a few times if i ran it down to where the gas light comes on.

Since then i got a job that is 3miles from my house and it takes me about 10-15mins to get there depending on school zones I do get now between 225-300 also depending on the driving. I fill up every pay (get paid bi-weekly)

Reason i am saying this is have you changed up your driving habits or did you just notice this problem?

I get fairly terrible mpg as well, but I am able to pull about 250 out of a tank.

When was the last time you did a tune up? Plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor, etc...
I'm sure the fuel filter will help your numbers a bit

like i said every 200 miles when my tank is up. but i bought gas on 1/12/12
then again on 1/24/12 so 15 days. on the 24th was the first time filling up after the new O2 sensor and fuel filter. so we'll see how far this tank will take me. as of right now 1/27 im close to 50 miles and still shows full tank so thats a good sign i hope. i know it stays up there for a little while but at least im not down a 1/4 tank already.
