Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Bad mpg fix

So I've been told I get horrible mpg. I can get about 230 until the light turns on. I always buy shell plus. I'm getting low I'm about 160 miles right now so when I fill up I'll let you knower how much goes in.

But I was wondering of you could give me possible reasons I am getting bad mpg's so I can fix these issues.

oxygen sensor, fuel filter, misfire issue... the list goes on and on. but an oxygen sensor could be a likely culprit.
edit: i havent done a tuneup in awhile and i get about 380-400 on a full tank.

Shit, there's a lot of reasons...and if you look around you'll find a shit load!

-your car may need a real tune up, oil change and transmission fluid e.t.c
-your cars timing may be a little rich(burning too much fuel than its suppose to)
      -air intake filter clogged
-egr dirty as fuck(not proven for - mpg)
-O2 sensor going out(any bogging issues?)
      -even a massive air leak
-or even adjust your Throttle cable, check and see if it opens 100% when you put your foot to the floor, its easy have someome press the gas pedal and remove intake and check and see if its open all the way or if it has a little play and if it does adjust it.
      -bad air valves.
      -bad fuel filter
-need new spark plugs + wires....
      Any check engine light?

Or my favorite! .....do you drive like the world is a race track?
Some people think they're losing gas but simply they like to drive fast...

I bet it's the fuel filter if it's never been changed

I change my oil regularly. I changed the spark plugs not that long ago. My wires are good. Probly do need fuel filter though. I aready checked my throttle cable. Not with someone else on the pedal. But I tightened it. but I did it too tight so when I put it in park rpm would bounce like 4 times then go to idle. Backed it off a bit now it's all good

Is the o2 sensor original? If it is replace it with a NGK/NTK or Denso, which you can get from rock auto for less then $40. Whenever you get a new car, its usually a good idea to do a full tune up, replace all fluids, all maintence items, that way you can re-establish a baseline.

There is a way to tell if an o2 sensor is bad, a simple google search can do wonders.

yah sorry. i guess i should check the one on there out first then before i buy a new one. im on rock auto and the only thing from NTK listed for the a6 is this thing i guess the plug. or they just show you the plug for some reason. i think i want the NGK one.

the one that says for f22a6 from denso would be the one i want though if i were to buy from here right?

the NTK says ots for a1 not a6. and what does it mean upstream?

^^ We only have 1 oxygen sensor, if you have an a6, it should be on the downpipe under the car. Take a look at the connector on your car just to be safe, and buy the appropriate sensor.

The part number for the one you want is: 2344095. Its for a f22a6, made by Denso, with male connector is only $33.89.

So I just filled up. At 206 miles. Bought 13.7 gallons of gas. So that means I still had like 3 gallons left over right? well see how i do once I get the new o2 sensor. I'm planing on getting the transmission fluid and fuel filters changed when I take it to honda when iget the oil changed (i got 3 oil changes for the price of one and I still have one left)

Honda will charge you more then the cost of an oil change most likely to change your trans fluid, and I don't even want to know how much they would charge to change a fuel filter, all I know is it would be disgusting. I'd suggest finding a mechanic that will install parts you provide for them, as it should be half the price or less then what honda charges. I pay my mechanic $20 every time I need to change my trans fluid, as he doesn't have a pump, so we end up having to take the intake manifold off my Fit to get a funnel to the fill port. Otherwise you should be able to change the fuel filter on your car easily, you just need 2 flare wrenches.

Changing the fluid on the cb is easy, he doesn't even charge me, and I usually don't even pay for the labor to change my oil (I provide the fluids and filter).

Usually I'll just bring him a case of Coors Original every other time I stop by.

You probably can find a shop simliar to this if you look hard enough. Key thing to ask when scoping out a shop "if I bring you a parts, will you install them?", at which point if they are good they should respond "as long as you don't bring me any autozone crap", otherwise if they say they can't or won't install parts you supply, onto the next one. My mechanic said he does pretty much everything but body-work and alignments. Its also a good idea to ask to see some "examples" of the work they have done, when I asked that my mechanic lead me into the shop and showed me his 79 Rx7 with a 308 V8 under the hood, its nasty
