ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

I was getting 20 avg, then I changed my O2 sensor along with plugs, wires, rotor, etc... Also reset the timing.

Yesterday I got 22.75. This included half of the tank before the tune up.

I need to be getting about 25+... Thinking about a bump up in compression

On 10 gallons of gas I manage 300 miles which is about 30mpg. This is mostly freeway miles, I hardly drive city. But when I drive between 75 to 80 and accelerate up to 3k sometimes over. I have done a study when I went 60 for a whole tank and not over reving and got up to 320 miles.

I get about 300-320 a tank depending on how I drive. 80% city, 20% freeway. Our CB's have the low fuel light?! When I first got the car, it was choking and the needle was just under the white notch by the red. I ran out of gas one time. Where can I get that light back? The fuse?

I consistently get about 450 to a tank (14.4 gal) roughly 31-32mpg (90hwy/10city) on my 90' 4dr EX. I was getting 29 before I realized my PCV valve was junk. A simple 1.99 fix from Checker/Orielly and next tank jumped up instantly to 31~32mpg.

I also installed an AEM CAI (only mod). Before I was getting around 27, then that jumped to the 29. Most people gain 2-3 mpg just from doing this since the intake can breath easier.

My best mpg ever was on a strictly highway trip. I got 37mpg drafting cars at 85-88mph.

I also noticed that the mudflaps that came with my EX were causing aero drag, so I removed all 4 of them and I think that helped maybe 1-2mpg.

But this car also has a fairly new distributor, timing is dead on, and plugs/wires are new....well plug wires are from 03' (JY specials lol) a lot better than the original ones from 1990 w/ 250k miles that's for sure.

Its also a 5spd so that helps

probably not much. it will certainly have a positive effect, since there is less mass to accelerate, but the cost of the hood will hardly make up the the gas you will save. i suppose if your car gets slightly better handling, you can take corners faster and use your brakes less, which is always good.

as for my cb7's mpgs: the best i have done is almost 350 miles before i got nervous and refilled my tank. this is a 92 lx 4 door f22a1 with a 5 speed manual. completely stock engine but a few weight reduction projects. mostly highway driving at about 65mph. at the time i was experimenting with adding a little acetone to improve mileage. it seemed to help a little, and my cousin noted more power in his jeep with it. it's hard to say if it actually helps, or if its just a placebo thing.

I've got 400 miles on 13/16 of a tank when I first got it. Drove all the way from N.C. to PA on 13/16 of a tank.

Yesterday I had a day permit on my car so I could take it in for a safety, filled the tank. Drove 140km/hr to town 50 km away. Drove around town, being pretty hard on the pedal, Very hard at times. Then drove home at 120km/hr with a total of 175km for the day. Gauge went down to 3/4 tank full. I have yet to refill it to calculate mileage though. There were also periods of time when it was idling for a while.

well i did a experience in canada....since i got my car

                        2010-between 2011 of spring.....stock everything..no tune up

                        driving highway- getting 500km
                        driving city- getting 230km...

improvement...in mid summer and fall of 2011

Tune up....air filter(short ram), o2 sensor, battery, intake cleaning and seafoam,

running on steelies gave me a huge improvement
                        highway- 750km
                        city-400km

untill aftermarket rims degraded just a little plus other weight on!!
                        highway-712km
                        city-378km

degrading weight is best to improve fuel economy

When my car was bone stock (f22a1) I used to average 34-35 MPG freeway. I got 490 miles on one tank of gas. When I went to my H22a, completely stock, no upgrades, I got 27-29mpg and around 380-400 miles on a tank and that was always using 92 octane gas. My f22a1 I would use 89.

I generally get about 430mi on one tank. And that's going all the way to the fuel light. If I dug a little deeper I'm sure I could get maybe about 450mi out of it but that's pushing it. I drive 80 on the highway all day long. Crack VTEC maybe 3-4 times daily. And do a little bit of city driving as well. Maybe about a 65/35 split. All on a street tuned H22A with I/H/E. Gonna add that Bisimoto Intake Gasket soon so I'm hoping for maybe 450mi daily.

I got 180 miles on 6 gallons with 85% of that being highway driving and I did not get the fuel light coming on at 180. I figure a 30 MPG average is pretty darn good.

highway driving, between 65-80mph with cruise set, mixed with a couple of stop-and-go times because of car accidents... my cd5 got 33.xx mpg hand calculated. Id assume with a constant 65mph and no stopping, getting over 35mpg wouldn't be too hard. throw in a manual transmission and maybe even more.
