ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Its also very intersting that honda doesn't show an exploded view of those two parts together which didn't help me understand "The Grande Picture"

    Thanks for "schooling" me!

And for both of those parts from honda... is over $300!

yeah i find it quite strange they are in different sections although one part is bolted to the other and nothing else. Why its in " combination meter " is really random to me.

The tires that came with my car are 215/45 R17
Speaking of VSS, I definitely need a new one.

Ok well I just swap the front tires (205/40r17s) with 215/45/r17s. And so far I'm very pleased. The 205/40s where very rough and provided very little protection for the many pot holes down here. And the 215/45 really grip the road. I big into cornering, thinking about across... I think this combination Is a step in the right direction.
So now 215/45/r17s in front and 225/45/r17s in the rear. Ps this is with a 2" drop and no rubbing!!

Um... we don't drive corvette's, and our cars are fwd, so why would you put larger tires on the rear?

Have you run the 225/45R17 in the front? I was just wondering if those would rub. I have 215/45R17's and they have no issues. Any reason you went with different size tires on the front vs the rear? Rubbing issues?

The rims came with tires. 225/45r17 rear 205/40r17front. Not my choice. Imagen how it looked before I swapped the front tires.
As for performance, It's awesome. I pull corners very tight and never loose grip. And think about this; when you pull a corner hard in a front wheel drive car with a pretty fat ass the rear tends to get loose. A wider tire in the rear could actually help stabilize the car right.... Just my own Opinion.

Thats what you call oversteer, our cars are the exact opposite, we suffer from understeer. There is also the saying about always putting the best tread tires on the rear though.

I have 195/60/15 on the front and 195/65/15 on the rear. My rears are noticably larger in sidewall height and looks stupid, but does give the car a slight raked look.

                    See sig pic.

I should have said "wider" tires in the rear. I was referring to the contact patch.

I understand what you were talking about, but I was making note that I hate the way my car looks and sits at the moment.

On a FWD car, I'd rather run the same size of tire all around. Stagged looks stupid, especially wide tires on the front and noticeably smaller on the rear.

The only time the staggered look is good, is when you put on some slicks, and toy (narrow) tires in the rear for drag racing.

The Hight of my car is equal with no rake. And the rear is slightly wider than the front, so no stagged look either.

I feel you can run different size tires as long as the side walls are the same Hight
