ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Crank pulley rubbing against timing cover

Why does my crank pulley rub against the timing cover? It was like this when I took it off. You can see how deep it cut into the cover. Even the serpentine belt rubbed into it and made some holes. How did this happen in the first place? Can't figure it out.

is it the original honda one? or has it been replaced? sometimes aftermarket harmonic balancers have the incorrect offset and rub. I found that out on my accord I bought, fitment was horrible so I threw that one away and put the correct one on.

It looks old so I'm sure it's OEM. Same with the cover.

also, whoever did you timing belt job last could've kinked one of the rubber grommets that hug the cover, causing it to sit off the engine a little. Do any of the rubber pieces look missing or out of place?

Nope I removed all the rubber gaskets, cleaned them up, cleaned up the covers, and fit everything back where they went. I guess I could just accept it but I am perplexed by how it started doing that in the first place. At first I was thinking the cover warped but when I try to push it in it hits the tension pulley immediately.

My cover does this to. All the ones at the junk yard do to.

I left this guy out by accident. It goes behind the timing gear. Do I really need it? Doesn't seem like it'll really help with making the crank pulley stick out more.

I was thinking about ordering a new OEM lower cover from:

                  http://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine...0-PT0-010.html

But if all the junkyard ones are doing it too, I feel like I'll put this on and it'll rub bad.
