ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Sound when braking

Well i have had this problem for a while now and i have free time this weekend. This is somewhat hard to explain but I will try as best as I can. When im moving and i press the brake (about 20 mph and slower) I can hear this sound coming from the rear driver side wheel. Its not a squeaking but a rotating sound (if that makes sense?) For example: Im coming up to a stop sign and I press the brakes the sound goes on/off/on/off to the speed of the wheels until a complete stop. This ONLY happens when i press the brake. I tried cleaning everything ans replaced the bearing. No luck. I will try to make a video if i can.
    Anyone have a solution?

    Thanks Guys!

First do you have drum brakes or disk brakes?

Oh sorry for the lack of info, I have drum brakes. I was going to replace the pads but they are still good.
Thx for the quick replies btw

Also check the brake hardware and the little cylinder looks like a little pump.

Are there any fluid on the brake assembly? I would check both sides in case you have cylinder failure/leak. One side catch and the other catch on and off thus making that sound. Also check your drums for uniform wear. How are the shoes condition? The front shoes usually wear down faster than the rear. Just make sure both side have the same wear.
Your ebrake? How many clicks before the brake catch? It should be no more than 5 clicks.

Let us know what is causing that sound?

Have you replaced the rear brakes... ever? I think mine are still original on my CB, and I know they're pretty much done. They're basically only good for using the e-brake.

But yeah, if you get a grinding sound only while pressing the brakes... it sounds pretty obvious to me that it IS the brakes.

What do you mean by replace the brakes? The actual drum or the pads?

I think he means both, you should check your rear brake shoes for even wear and the drum as well to make sure its not damaged. By drum I mean the big round thing, I'm sure you know what it is. The rear brakes he has are the original 20 year old brakes.
