ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    removal of clutch damper

I'm doing a auto to 5 speed swap currently, when I put the swap in i realized the line from the damper to the tranny was rubbing, and with engine vibration, it would eventually break. I tried removing the line from the damper to install another line that i bend, but it just won't come lose. I don't know if this is happening because I got the swap from a 91 lx and I have a 92 EX but I've decided to just get rid off the damper all together. Has any one done this before? is the pedal extremely stiff? and better yet can you feel better when the clutch disengages?

I didn't use the damper either when i did the 5spd swap. It looks cleaner in the engine bay without it and i couldn't tell the difference with it or without it.

Someone on here used a custom braided line from the master to the slave... eliminating the damper. Claims there are no issues. I'm extremely curious about it (I had forgotten all about it until now... the details are discussed in a thread here.)

The line I'm referring to runs all the way from the master to the slave. It replaces the rubber line, the damper, AND the hard line. It was a custom piece, but easy to order, and only cost like $30 I think.

I am doing the tranny swap and eliminating the clutch dampener, does it change any aspect to the feel of the car or is just removing a piece that isn't really needed? should I just go through the effort and install the dampener

you can feel a little vibration through the pedal but how long are you going to be riding your clutch pedal?

good point. If it is easy to install on my car I'll just do it to really complete the swap

Its super easy it just hooks up at the clutch master cylinder and runs to the slave like 5 mins at most.

I'm on my phone or I would. But look up champcoupe's DIY on auto to 5spd swap and it has the link. The thread is even in a sticky somewhere.
