ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Confused about f22a. Not a1,a4,or a6

    My friend has a 9293 10thAnn Cb.

    I pop his hood to see which motor it got, (i was expecting to find an a4), and all I see on the Block is F22A. No number after that...

    Is this motor common? Ive never heard of it...

            Why would you expect to see an F22A4 in a 10th Anniversary? The A4 is a 90-91 engine. The 10AE is just an LX with extra goodies.

            But yeah, no number means JDM... or as tippey said, it's just dirty, and there's a 1 hiding in there somewhere.

            Butterflies = IAB system.

            Specs? ITS THE SAME AS THE F22A6. Specs for that are easily obtainable.

              You beat me to it >.<

              Anyways as stated above you would looking for an A6 not A4.
              Try cleaning really good and look again.

                  Actually, no. As stated above, the engine that SHOULD be in that car is an F22A1.

                  If the engine in there is indeed a JDM F22A, then it is identical to an F22A6. It is also not the original engine, and is definitely an imported swap.

                    Oh, for some reason I thought that A4s were in 9091 EX and 9292 10thAnn and below.

                    Yeah, I knew about the no number meaning JDM, just never expected it in his car. Its an auto, stock everything, and it was bought from some old lady. Definately not the person to fit the description of one who has a JDM engine placed in her car...

                    Yeah, since I know its the same as an a6, i can find the specs on it pretty quickly.

                    (Ill look up IAB now, time to learn!)

                    And he wants to know what exact car it came in. It should be a Cb3, right?

                      LOL that's funny. In your opinion what description fits? The JDM engine probably means nothing in this case other than it was cheaper or lower mileage motor swap. She could have taken it to a shop with a blown motor and they sold here that engine. She probably didn't even know that it was mad tyte JDM!...... j/k

                      JDM CB7 is what it came in. The CB3 had the F20A 2.0L DOHC.

                        I'm sure that's exactly what happened. The shop probably had a connection to an importer.

                        I don't believe there were CB7s in Japan. The CB7 is a North American model (though if the list below is correct, perhaps that's not entirely true, as there are no 4ws CBs in North America.)

                        As provided by Blizzard335:
                        CB1 = 1.8l carb, PGM-Fi (92 up) came in 2 trims, EX and EXL, the latter having central locking
                        CB2 = 1.8l 4ws, EXL trim only
                        CB3 = 2.0l, carb and PGM-Fi, SOHC and DOHC, EXi, EXL-i, Si, Si-T (92 up), the carb was EX only
                        CB4 = PGM-Fi only 4ws CB3, similar trims, SOHC and DOHC havent seen a carb'd CB4 till today.
                        CB5 = Inspire, inline 5 2.0, G20a engine
                        CB6 = JDM Coupe, 2.0 DOHC, and an oddball JDM 1993 2.2l with the CB6 VIN i once saw.
                        CB7 = 2.2l sedan, coupe and also 4ws in some markets, u guys know the trim levels better
                        CB8 = European Wagon, Aerodeck
                        CB9 = USDM, JDM Wagon, 2.2l

                              That's the case on how I obtained my sohc f20a... After I blew my motor and almost lost all interest in the cb7 game, I sent my car back home to my parents house to basically part it or sell it.. But my dad had a mechanic friend throw a new motor in.. I later got it back with a low mile, low cost motor installed... "JDM" none the less. Kinda got excited when i saw no number stamped after the engine code. I knew it was JDM, but didn't know anything about the motor.. I was hoping it was a magical high horsepower motor or something.. Like a f20c.. Lol. But after I got in and drove, I knew it was just a replacement.

                              So unfortunately ur buddy just has a talking piece..Check the vin, Maybe the car was assembled in Japan! More jdm'adge talking topics!
