Honda MTF is only available directly from a Honda dealership. That is where you need to look.

Manual transmissions aren't nearly as sensitive to the proper fluid as automatics are... so you have some freedom there. Any high-end synthetic fluid should perform very well.
Personally, I use GM Synchromesh (available at any GM dealership... Chevy, Buick, Cadillac... I'm not sure what you have in Saudi Arabia, if any... they're very common here in the US, obviously!)

Redline and Torco are widely used, and have great reputations. I've never heard of that one you mentioned, but it sounds good.

Many shops just suggest regular motor oil (in fact, the Honda manual for our cars says so.) However, especially at this age, you'll want a good synthetic to protect the already worn parts of the old transmission!

deevergote !! first of all i really wud like to appreciate for answering my questions instantly whenever i post any, i have checked all the honda dealerships of Honda, its not available, i went to GM motors and they are using AC Delco products over there,,GM synchromesh,no body knows anything about that in the Spare Parts or the Workshops, i went to the market, Fuchs i found in synthetic, but i dont trust that, and some Gulf Made synthetic oils, of which i have not heard from anywhere,so that lefts me with Liqui Moly, that i used in my car and bikes in Pakistan and believe me that the performance of the vehicle got alot better,,,,,,, i will go to the dealership of liqui moly when the market will reopen and will get Synthoil High Tech 5W-40 for the transmission.....

No problem. You always seem to have really detailed questions, and I know you have far less support over there than we do here in the US! When I need help, I have a cb7tuner member living across the street from me!

That's a shame that neither Honda nor the GM dealerships carry their own quality fluids! Did Honda say what fluid they use in their transmissions?

German companies seem to make very good oils, and German cars often seem to be made to very tight specifications... so I would trust a high-end German oil. If you have used it previously with good results in other vehicles, then I'd say it's worth trying in the CB. If your gears grind while shifting with the new fluid, change it right away for something else!

Thats weird that you couldn't get Synchromesh, many GM manual transmission vehicles require it in the transmission or you will ruin it.

Have you tried a synthetic 5W-30 motor oil? The Honda manual recommends 5W-30 motor oil.

My Dad will only use motor oil and doesn't buy into the MTF, he's been a Honda parts manager since 3G accords were new and Honda dealerships would put motor oil in the transmissions, according to him. I don't take the chance and just use MTF

Motor oil was probably fine when these cars were new... but from my experience, MOST people do not change their transmission fluid... ever. Therefore, our transmissions not only have 20 years worth of wear on them, but they've done it on the same old fluid! That's the main reason I would suggest a synthetic. The Honda manual says 10w-30, so obviously that's not a bad thing to use... but with the age and wear, I'd say a better fluid is a good idea.

Perhaps the GM vehicles that require Synchromesh aren't available in Saudi Arabia? Not all that many GM vehicles come with manual transmissions these days (well, moreso in recent times... 10-15 years ago, it was rare to find a GM manual.)

Royal purple and amsoil both make a syncromesh fluid as well. I've bad very good luck with the royal purple fluid.

deevergote !!! your right about that, the labour cost is way too much and as u know that we are living here as an expatriate, so we are the third class citizen of a first class country,,, and i am just working as a sales man in KIA MOTORS,,, so i would not be earning that much obviously, But not bad enough,,,, keeping a CB7 , the only motivation of keeping it caz of CB7tuner.com... i love this site and i love u guys, everyone of u,i sometimes get amazed with the questions that u guys ask, and u all are way too sharp that u tell the exact problem when any one ask the question, Honda Dealerships here are using Engine Oil in there transmissions, and GM motors are using some AC Delco Gear Oil, i never have had a honda,my technician Collegues changed the regular gear oil in my car, which we are using in KIA MOTORS , and my transmission got damaged, though they wanted to help me so obviously i couldnt object on them caz they are all nice to me, i have some targets which i need to hit before doing anything on my car, the maintenance cost for the whole last year was 600$...and i think that CB7 is helping me to alot to save money,,and obviously thanks to CB7tuner.com that i can get to keep my car with least labor,,,,

Accrdwgnguy ! nopes i havent used 5w30 motor oil, and ur Dad is obviously is doing the right thing, caz he knows alot much better than me that i can not even imagine of,,, and guess what, i have never seen Manual Transmissions in GM Australian Made and American Made vehicles here, only very few Korean Made Vehicles are with Manual Tranmission, Otherwise Automatic Transmission is being used here, CApric , Lumina, Subarban, etc,Alllll have automatic Transmissions

wed3k ! i looked for Honda MTF, GM synchromesh , royal purple and Pennzoil Synchromesh, and even any synchromesh,,nothing,,couldnt find any of those...

when i bought the Car, there was Clean and White Transmission Fuild in my car and whenever i checked it, it was as white as new, a friend of mine always put it on the lifter and told me that there is some synthetic life time MTF in it so do not change it but i read here to change it, once a technician took it in the workshop and changed the engine oil and the gear oil as he was helping me out, i didnt take notice of changing the gear oil but after a month, the gear started grinding, and it started locking up on applying brakes n the 2nd gear slips out,i mean the car gets neutral , after changing it for the first time, my transmission was gone and i searched it here on CB7tuner.com and got that it shud go with the Engine Oil in the tranmission, which i did,but i was too late,i almost drove 10,000 km with the Thick 80w gear oil,,,, i flushed the transmission with engine oil ,, now i change it at 5000km ,, but whenever i take the Oil out from the transmission, it comes in black color, i put the new oil in,,and take the black dirty oil out,,,why was the car having a clean MTF in it when i bought that car in the first place?though i drove around 150,000km with the same oil and have had no problem with that, and now after changing it with the Engine Oil,why does it gets dirty after 5000 km?

I had a shop put gear oil in my transmission once too... and it did some serious damage to it. 3rd and 5th gears grind terribly now. GM Synchromesh has helped, but the damage can't be reversed.

I don't know why the oil remained clean. Usually heat will cause it to break down, which often causes discoloration. That's one reason why engine oil turns black (also, the carbon and fuel blowby in the engine contributes to it quite a bit...)

That stuff is way too thick. It's not so bad once it warms up, but if you drive the car before the oil is heated, it's like running with no oil at all.

I never just jump in a car and go, unless its my automatic wagon which i really dont care about the tranny in it. I

But i never had an issue with it being too thick. Never had any grinds, no popping out of gear or anything.

The only problem I had was an axle seal leaking a tiny bit and you could smell it burning off the exhaust.
