ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

H22 OBD I or OBD II?

So I'm about at the point of doing my motor swap. I checked a couple places for getting it handled and I'm hearing that swapping to the 92 - 96 OBD I is the only way to go. It's practically a direct fit. And that the 97 - OBD II is pretty much out of the question. Is that the case?

Have you spent any time at all reading the Swaps section of this site? You might find some answers there.

Not necessarily. Yes, the OBD1 will be easier. For the OBD2, you need to change out the distributor, injectors, and ECU for ones that came from an OBD1 H22. Its just extra steps, but it may be worth it if you prefer the 2nd generation H engines, or if you can easily get one.

I would take some time to read threw other threads on this. Taking the extra steps towards the OBD-II will definitely light your fire. Just like Pali_Mo stated. It takes some steps extra but you will be happy. Either motor will bolt rite to the mounts that are in there. Unless you have an automatic transmission and going to manual. Like I am.

Some modification will be needed to properly mount the engine and transmission. The transmission case needs to have a new hole tapped in it. That is also explained in detail in the Swaps section. Otherwise, yes... the Accord mounts and axles are what is used.

Good point. I was just clearing up the fact that they don't all just bolt in with no modification... but at most, it's minimal modification.

It is possible to use the obd-2 injectors and distributor w/ the obd1 car. but you will have to have an obd-1 computer.

soldering the injector clips on is pretty simple

The distributor is easy if you can cross refrence wiring diagrams well and solder.

the TDC,CKP, and CYP sensors are all in the distributor on a obd-1

on the obd the ckp and tdc sensors are on the oil pump at the crank.

It is a matter of hacking up the obd2 harness and soldering them into the corresponding wires on the obd-1 harness.

Very simple if you are mechanically inclined.

                Later.
