ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Bad tcm?

I made this thread before but it was deleted
I am thinking about buying this 92-93 sedan. The guy thinks it had a bad tranny but I think It could be the tcm but I am not sure.
He said I THINK IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION IT WILL NOT TAKE OFF IN DRIVE BUT U CAN PUT IT IN 1 OR 2 AND GO THEN SWITCH IT TO DRIVE.
    What does that sound like?

No, you made "I'm thinking about buying another CB".

Please follow the rules. If you don't please don't bitch about your threads being deleted. If that's how you're going to start your new threads, THOSE will be deleted as well.

Check to see if there are any error codes being thrown by the TCU. They will be indicated by the D4 light, and the "read here first" thread at the top of this section tells you how to read and interpret the code. If there are no codes, or if the light remains solid, then the TCU may be bad. Remove it and look for burned resistors.

Otherwise, it could be anything. Bad transmission, low fluid, etc...

You think? You don't know a damn thing, do you? Please don't waste anyone's time unless you have something useful to say. Thanks.

          follow exactly what deev says

my and i repeat my experience in my 90 coupe was that the s light came on and i was getting the same tranny feel you are getting. i checked for codes and there were none so i pulled the tcu and i could smell the burnt resistors

got a reman tcu and all is well

remember to do the diagnosing first and do it the proper way

Right. If the TCU is not bad, and it is simply reporting other problems... replacing it will be a waste of money. Replacing the TCU only helps when it's the only problem.
