ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    H23 IM cleaning Questions

After marking location of hose and stuff I broke Down the IM and TB

Since I had Two IM I robbed the IAB plate out of the second one and pulled the butterfly's out to "Double Stack" them when i install them back which one goes first the spacer plate or the IAB plate?

The questions I have on cleaning the IM and TB is... What is the best way to remove the old gaskets?
I'm going to clean EGR valve up but what about the FITV, IACV, etc. should I break them down and clean them up as well they dont look into bad of shape?
Thanks for all your Help CB's I could have started with out yall!

The iab plate should go first. Soaking the gaskets in warm water works, but I use brake cleaner and a razor blade. Gotta be careful with the blade, you don't wanna scar the surface, it can cause leaks. I would recommend you clean everything, fully test it all apart and clean them very good.

IAB should be on top and spacer on the bottom. If you do it reversed then you'll have a pocket of air when the IABs are closed, causing turbulence

You can use a gasket scraper but you have to be careful not to gouge the aluminum since its a relatively soft metal. 3M also offers a neat tool to remove gasket material, it attaches to a drill motor and softly lifts/polishes material off the metal without rounding the edges off...also works great at lifting pinstripes off car finishes.

            cleaning of H23 parts

Defiantly will look into that thanks, ...plus It means a new tool!

Here is my progress so far, This heat here is keeping me in the AC when I get home. "105 Today" no lower then 100 for the last 45 day except for 1!
When removing the gasket I scared the gasket side of TB so I Did my best in polishing them smooth. No rounded edged I guess If it leaks I could put on my big belt sander and if not I will hit up the JY!
Prepared the IAB spacer for JB welding those holes that where left behind. Being that JB weld has a 600 degree tolerance I figured it would be fine
Is there anything special that I need to use for those holes?

Everyone uses JB Weld, it will be fine, the intake temps dont even come close to 600 degrees.

I think JB-Weld is only rated up to 400 degrees. I'm not sure, so y'all might want to read the label/directions.

For the purpose of the spacer, JB-Weld will work just fine.
