ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Optima Battery?

So I have a Blue Top Optima Battery laying around and my battery as of now needs to be replaced and both battery look kind of equivalent in size but the blue top is meant for "marine boats" and so on. Would it be safe or ok to put it into a 92 Accord?
    Thanks For ANY Replies!

you really should put a redtop or yellow top, since the blues weren't really designed for automotive use in cars and trucks. But I guess if you have to make it work, it'll probably work.

does the blue top have a light gray case or a dark gray case ? one is a starter battery and the other is a deep cycle and starter combo . my pop carries Optima batteries at the tire shop.

Just test it out one day. I'm 90% sure it will work but not guaranteeing it. I personally would just use it as a temporary one and try to find a replacement CAR battery ASAP and continue to use the optima one for a temp.

Thanks guys for all the input!! Ima just try it out with the blue top and in the mean time look for a yellow one since it's meant for cars. And the weather don't affect me much cause I live in Florida lol

Ive had one in my CB since January, I pulled it out of my bagged S10 before I got rid of it. Works GREAT, no issues and it even went dead once (thanks to the breaking brake pedal "brake lights" plastic piece that left the brake lights on 10 hours one day) and charged back up off just the alternator. (And yeah I know the alternator will not fully charge a dead battery, blah blah blah lol)
