ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Properly repainting my "rims" & Swap Question

Hello, I have a fairly stock 93 10th anniversary edition cb7 and I wanted to paint the factory rims/wheels on it using some black caliper paint (was recommended by O'riely auto parts) and was wondering do I need to take the tire off or can I somehow bypass that?

Also I was wondering is it possible to have a K20a swap in the accord and what other swaps (other than a H22 swap) is recommended and possible? To get it as fast as possible. Thanks!

To bypass taking off the tire just clean it with wax and grease remover and tape it up with newspaper. As for swaps, any swap is possible as long as you have the knowledge and tools to do so. The h22 is the easiest since it is pretty much a direct swap.

      this works

what i did when i painted mine was i used black magic (when i was ready to paint) on only the tires, real thick( make sure you dont get any on the rims or the paint will fisheye), i painted the rims and wiped off the overspray wich was on the tire dressing. it left no traces of left over paint and with my newly painted rims the tires were dressed too....hope this helps

Please don't make one thread with two COMPLETELY unrelated questions...

You can tape around the tire, carefully. You can't take the tire off yourself without a machine. Any tire shop can do it for you, though. You don't need "caliper paint". Any quality paint will work just fine with proper prep work.

As for a swap, the K20 will require a good deal of modification, as there are no mounts for it. The K24 can be used, but you'll need a mount kit, as well as a number of other things. Expect to spend $6000+ to get any K series into your car. 8-10 is more likely, if you want to do it right.
The Swaps section of this site has a thread at the very top that shows all regular swap options. I suggest you read that before posting anything else about swaps.

Alright thank you everyone for the help, and I was asking because I saw an ad on CL that will do a K20 swap for $6000 and an H22 swap for $1500 so I wasn't sure if I should do the K20 or the H22 and have him turbocharge it for another $1500. Thanks again!
