ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

how to rehook up the radiator fans, using relay

i had some craigslist mobile mechanic come over and had him check out my idle problem, and did a diagnosis, he did a good job, but then told me my wiring was wrong, so this guy goes ahead and wripped out the hole relay and everythin, now i dont know how to put it all back to gether here are some pics

they were working before so i know i dont need anything else, but hey maybe they were wired wrong, and i will be more than willing to buy the right parts to make it correct, thanks people of cb7tuner

    so thats the relay

these are three wires coming out of it

this is where the black wire goes, it turns into red then to that switch under the dizzy

this red wire is just hangin around it comes from under the fuse box,, so i guess its coming from the interior dash or somewhere, but everything is working inthere i tested it all

this is just the over veiw of whats going on

    thanks again

    Going by the relay PINS

87 12volts constant... Fused High Current
    85 Ignition....
86 to the fan switch... (Ground the other wire at the fan switch)
    30 To the fans

hey thanks for the fast reply, hey i dont know where the 85 goes, what do you mean by ignition, where is the ignition wire

then 86 to the fan switch, where is that fan switch

and then 30 to the fans?

      thanks

by ignition, he just means switched 12v. Hook it up to a wire that only shows 12v when the ignition is turned on. The fan switch is in the thermostat housing. There are two wires coming out of the plug on your thermostat (which you refer to as the thing under the dizzy). Then yes, run pin 30 to the 12v side of the fans.

hey, im driving a 99 ford v10 super duty and it sucks up gas like crazy espicially since it has tons of tools in the back, and is a completely full work truck, it would be much apreiciated, to help me fix this cb7, it is not starting now, and when i try to start it, it seems like it has a lot of batterie life, and everything works the radio and speakers, so im thinking its maybe the fuel pump, how would i diagnos this, thank you

If it you suspect the fuel pump you can either 1) get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge and see if your pump is putting out the right flow. 2) when you turn the ignition on, listen for the fuel pump to "click" on. 3) you could shoot some starter spray in the intake and if it starts fine then dies out you know you are not getting proper fuel.

thoughs mobile mechanics, used quick start and the car started fine and everything, then they set my timing, after that i have been letting the car sit around for a month, started it a few times, but now this, if i use quick starrt again and it all starts fine, then this happens again, what do i blame

i disconnected the line on the fuel rail, and had someone try to start the car, to see if fuel squirts out of the line, and we had nothing with several attempts, is that enough cause to replace the pump?

I would say so. This is just my opinion, but it sounds like its not getting fuel or enough fuel. Have you replaced the fuel filter becaue you might want to try that before doing the pump.

Also, I would check the thermostat housing ground since you were working in that area. After that I would inspect the main relay.......

On the firewall above the charcoal canister.......... follow the fuel line from the fuel rail straight back to it if need be.
