ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

What are all differences between cai and sri?

Ok so I was thinking of getting an sri off of ebay then my friend calls me and tells me to get a cai instead. I know they are both good but what are the main differences between the too? I have been debating whether to get the sri or cai. I heard that there is more performance with the sri than the cai ,but there has to be something good about the cai performance wise. I just want to know which is truthfully better for a cb7.

The cai mounts the flter outside of the engine bay to get a cooler intake charge. It does run the risk of pulling in water when it has rained. They sell things to help prevent that though. The differences between the 2 intakes I would consider negligable as far as usable power is concerned. Also with the cai you'll have to cut a hole in the inner fender to install it.

Once you are moving the temperature under the hood is the same as the outside air. So a "short ram" will be pulling in just as cool air once you are moving.

      -2 cents.

        Exactly.

The short ram (sri) is also a HELL of a lot easier to remove when working in the engine bay. I hate my CAI, but I paid $200 for it, so I don't want to get rid of it!

One is a much easier install, the other can hydrolock your engine, both do pretty much the same thing.

Plus you'll pay less for the SRI.

Agree. I think the sri is a bit louder than the cai when i floor it.

AMEN! Fortunately for me, the insurance company paid for my CAI when I got into an accident with my first Accord.
