ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Your guess is as good as mine. I too don't know how it went bad or is bad.
The fitv has already been cleaned twice and no change. Also the plastic screw inside the fitv is closed tight and that did not do anything. At this point in time I have done everything.I could with still having the problem.

Its a spring, a copper nugget, a retainer, and a plastic nut, clean that bitch, reassemble it, and tighten the nut down. Its not a sensor, there's nothing to fry. I mean the spring COULD break, or the retainer, pull it apart before you go buy another one and clean it.

I'm having the exact same problem. The erratic idle only exist after the T-stat opens. I believe it's a vacuum leak. I state this because once in a while, I'll be sitting in traffic, and I'll feel a drastic drop in brake pedal pressure
BTW, did you figure out the culprit/solution?The Lord watches over me!

Hello, here is Honda's procedure for diagnosing a fluctuating idle. Sorry for the poor scan quality on the italic text. All steps with italics ask if the car stalls except for step five, which asks if the car still runs. This check list was able to help me identify my high and fluctuating idle. It happened to be a leaking intake manifold gasket. BTW, did you spray carb cleaner on the under side of you IM gasket from under the car? Could be a leak down there. Thats where mine was. Good luck and I hope this helps.

If no vacuum leaks are present and your IACV is good you might want to make sure your engine temperature sensor is working properly because if your motor is at operating temperature and your sensor is reading colder than actual temperature the ECU will advance the timing to raise the idle in order to pull in more air in an effort to raise engine temperature and therefore your idle will never come down try putting on a new temp sensor and see if that solves your problem
