ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Does anyone have this SRI?

Has anyone owned this SRI? If so was it worth spending the money on it? What could you tell different about your cars performance?

It's the same as all the no name intakes. Just switch out the filter with a name brand and you're good to go.
    The price seems about average.
As for the performance gains, you'll gain maybe 1-2hp... if that. You won't feel a power difference, but you're intake will be noisier.

Is it cheaper? That's a fucking $14 intake right there! NOTHING is cheaper than that! As for performance.. as said, it won't be any better or worse than any other cheapo intake. However, that shit filter will not work very well, and you'll eventually end up damaging your engine. That is why K&N or AEM filters are always suggested. A pipe is a pipe, but you want a quality filter to keep your engine from being damaged. NO, a quality filter is not going to come with a pipe for $15. A K&N filter will probably run you $45 or so, but it can be cleaned and reused.

Ya I wasn't planning on using the filter they give in the listing I was going to buy a K&N or Spectre filter.

Then it is cheaper, as you won't have to buy piping.

Spectre filters are junk as well. If you want the best , get APEXi power filter. However , it'll run you close to $100

I'm just looking for something cheap that will perform better than what is given in the listing.

The only bad part about that intake is the filter. Replace that with a quality one and you're set. You're pretty much not going to find a better intake for anywhere near that price.

Personally, I like the look of the stock airbox, so I cut the bottom off. It's free and sounds great.
Did I mention it was free?

Cheap eBay SRI and a K&N filter... You could be set for about 75 bucks. Go for it dude.

I am going to say that you will gain 3-5hp vs the stock paper filter. I put one on my dads cb and you can feel it.

Your not going to feel 3hp or 5hp which would equal even less WHP.It might run better in a certain range through out the power band, but you wont feel something that small unless his was caked full of leaves, trash, rats nest etc. Most intakes show loss in down low tq aswell.Only intakes that give a better gain than your normal piping would be chambered intakes such as AEM v2,PWJDM,velosity stacked set ups etc etc.As for the filter i run K&N or AEM dry flow way better than that autozone Spectre crap.
