ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Shudder/Vibration when Hard Turning after Changing Driveaxle

I recently replaced my front driveaxle. When I take my car out for a spin I hear and feel a shake, shudder, vibration (whatever you want to call it) when I take a hard turn or quickly accelerate. You can't hear or feel anything when going straight or taking a slight 45 degree turn.

I checked to make sure the driveaxle was clicked in all the way and it's in and flush. Everything else with the repair job seems to check out.

Could this shudder sound be from the assembly being jostled around? Maybe lubricating the bushings in that general area would help?

    Thanks for any help.

My first thought would be that it wasn't pushed in all the way, but you say you checked that already. That's one of the most common issues when changing an axle.

Where did you get the axle? Is it new or remanufactured? I've known people that have had issues with remanufactured axles from Advance Auto.

Are you absolutely certain that you have the correct axle? I've been given an axle for a 5th generation Accord before (thankfully I caught it before I went through the trouble of installing it.)

It sounds like the outer joint is really worn out, so they might've given you a crappy reman. if you got remanufactured ones. The only possible cause would be the joints if everything else is smooth and trouble free when going straight.

Thanks for the response guys. I got the part from RockAuto, EMPI is the brand. I lined them up with the driveaxle that I was replacing and they looked very similar and lined up right.

Is there any danger to driving with how it is? Thanks.

only danger you might run into is the driveaxle breaking. which could be potentially hazardous
