ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    H23 I.M. black box question.

I have a H23 I.M with a H23 Black box on a 91 accord ex with f22a head. The question is that the "Black box" i got with the H23 IM has the same exact plug as the one behind the passender side headlight between the battery and the fender. would I be able to just swap them out and connect the hose to the IAB from there to make the Butterflies work correctly?
    .
    The one on the car.

the one i got with the H23 IM the plug goes right in.

im assuming u have a f22a6? or a4? if so you dont need to swap. just run that #8 vac line to the plenum. thats if you have a h23 plenum.
    this how i did mine

its not exactly the same box, but it does the same function, and yes you can use it, the box thats next to the air filter is also a vacuum box that the solenoid next to it controls

the funny part is people go and spend up to $50 for the iab box
when they already have one in their cars that they aint using

That opens and closes a little flapper in the stock intake. If you don't have a stock intake then delete it.

You mean the one that comes with the h23 ? I have a spacer and the plate with the flappers. will it work for that one?

The two do not open at the same RPM. And, running a vacuum hose that long to the front box doesn't work very well. I tried it once.

So swap out the box and relocate it closer to the I.M ?

What I've done is use one of the plastic vacuum lines and melted the ends to make the air hole about 1/4 the original size to restrict the air flow and connected it to the plenum and this way it only releases the vacuum for the butterflies at a way higher RPM than just a straight vacuum line that makes them open when any pressure is released.

in the intake... not the intake manifold

Its part of the stock ducting system and is called the intake control solenoid valve.

Description : The intake control system decreases air intake noise.

When the engine speed is below 3,500 rpm, the ecu supplies current to the intake control solenoid valve. This opens the solenoid valve sending intake manifold vacuum to the intake control diaphragm.

Pretty much its a valve in the intake system that lets less air into the engine at alow RPM by holding a flap closed. When you rev it up it opens up and you get that extra bit of air that was before blocked off.
