ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I've done it recently, you won't need a gasket, just don't damage what's there. But an egr valve gasket wouldn't hurt, just be careful you might be able to reuse it. Also you tube search "egr port clean eric the car guy" the vid is specifically on a f22b. He has some of the best diy's and generally they are on the f22b. And just get some cleaner, I use brake cleaner, others will day use carb cleaner. Brake cleaner is more caustic, especially to seals, your call.

That's the cd5 motor right? When I cleaned the egr ports on mine I didn't need any new gaskets... One thing I will say though is to be carefull when removing the injectors.. you don't want to loose any of those o rings or seals.. I lost one and had to go to the dealer and pay five bucks for one. Luckily the dealer had 2 in stock.. other than that the job is pretty easy and straight forward

i have the f22a in my ride and i did the egr port cleaning in the diy section. my car requires plugs. you must drill them out and then clean out the carbon build up, the put the new plugs in. never worked on the f22b so idk how different it is.

When I did it, I changed all of the o-rings and gaskets for the injectors since the car is old. Just to avoid any possible future problems. It didn't cost too much and while I am there, might just well do it.
Did you notice any performance gain?
