ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Yes... please keep this updated. A legitimate refurbisher would be a real find.

I would pay $120 for a good TCU. After spending over $300 on guaranteed or refurbished units, you will forgive me if I seem skeptical. Basically what we got were junk yard pulls with anti-tamper tape stuck on them. The one unit that someone actually tried to repair went up in flames. (pic posted above) You will also find that there are many, many versions of this TCU and which units can work in what cars is a guarded secret. Some refurbishers will tell you that they reprogram the unit for your exact application...this is a lie.

For most cars, junk yard pulls will work out well, but these Honda Accord units are very poor to begin with so if you get a good one, you are indeed fortunate. I say this because we also have a 88 Prelude automatic. Preludes were actually built in Japan so they did not suffer with these Georgia made TCU's. We were lucky to get one with a good "limp home" mode of 2nd and 4th gears instead of the usual 1st and 3rd gears.

Ebay sellers do not honor guarantees and they are somehow able to write their own reviews so when you see these 98% approval ratings, don't believe it. I wrote a scathing review and the seller simply re-wrote it. Hahahaha

I completely understand what you are saying. You have to send your TCU to Module Master. They rebuild it and send it back. They may have an option of already having one readily available. I sent them my wifes off her 2000 Olds Intrigue as they are as prone to going out as our TCU's are. GM wanted $1300 for a new one. I shipped hers to Module Master on Monday and had it back the following Monday. It cost me $180 plus $15 to ship it there and it came with a 5 year warranty. That was about 2 months ago and it's worked like a dream so far. I'm not sending my TCU to them as I'm just going to have a buddy re-work mine once I get the other one from a guy here on the forum. If neither option ends up working, then I may send one off to them. SO far I'm happy with them.
