Does it have threads? The reason why I ask is because you have an oxygen sensor near there. If that's not the whole, you need some fab work done. That or a new exhaust/component.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If the problem gets too bad, I'll likely go with an ebay header.
I don't think JB weld will fix it. It's formed like a slit across the top.

The reason I went for an eBay header was because my flex pipe was rotted out and, as counter intuitive as it seems, it was cheaper to get an eBay unit for about $70 shipped than weld in a new flex piece! The eBay units get a lot of flak, but I've had mine in there for 4 years and it has been great. All of the original gaskets are intact. The flex piece did fail after 3 years, which isn't unreasonable IMO.Last edited by phantomcow2; 07-21-2011, 11:36 AM.

To answer your question, no it wont hurt anything to have the small leak. If it is a large leak and very close to the O2 sensor then it can cause some engine problems- rough acceleration, loss of power, CEL coming on. If its not bothering you sound wise, ignore it until you want to spend the $70 for an ebay header. OR....hot up a junk yard and grab a used exhaust manifold with the down pipe and call it a day. If you can weld then you can install the header yourself and the problem is solved.

Currently, I'm most worried about the gasses poisoning me or melting something. Other than that, I'm fine with it.

As for gasses or heat....an expert I am NOT but ive had an exhaust leak under my engine for weeks, I drive 3 hours a day to\from work windows up with A/C or down and enjoying the wind and there is no gas fume at all. Heat coming out of a tiny leak will be so minimal as to be a non-issue in the already hot engine bay plus your moving most of the time anyway, the draft under the car as you move does more to cool things off then that crack of heat will ever do to make things any warmer.
