ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Electrical problem. Ideas?

Alright, before I tear my car apart... and before this turns into a Cliche' "my cars broken, Spoon feed me" Im a GM tech, and I have been messing with Hondas Forever. So i know what i am doing. NOW, since its my only day off, I just want opinions... But dont be Stupid.

I have a 91 Accord lx cb7 coupe auto f22. Now, Its been running like crap, Mostly because it needs a tune up. But recently it has started to idle violently, and shake so bad my glove box pops open. It is also blowing my 'Small Light' 15A FUSE, under the hood. I put a new one in, but my Front marker lights arent working. But the tails work? And I went to drive it, and as i was pulling out of my driveway, my car was stumbling, shaking, missfiring, and while it was acting up, the stereo and clock would go out intermittently, and then the fuse blew again. Now the car runs like a geo, and sounds like it runs on about 1 to 2cyl and idles like a harley. thats how bad the idle is. When I rev the engine, Its hard to pick up rpms, BUT it clears up at high RPMs. (Around 3k) It also has a ghetto remote start door lock pager thing by "valet". It looks like it was installed okay, and still works. Also, No check engine light.

ANY ideas would be cool. Like I said, i am lazy... Plus i JUST put brakes on it which was A pain in the Ass... And now it acts like this? ugh, i hate that. Plus my 99 CG5 blew a headgasket. Thanks guys.

Well, pulled out the goofy remote module thing, lights work fine. Now my fans are acting up. I unplugged both the switches, and they still come on. So I am assuming it's the control unit. Any wiring diagrams on here?

all the symptoms are still occuring?

sounds like some shorts in the harness, also check the connection where the dash harness goes through the firewall and plugs into the engine harness.

when i worked at Myrtle Motors Pontiac/GMC we had a Firechicken come in dead as a doornail even after putting a new battery in. the prblem was found accidentally when I was leaning into the engine compartment and pushed on the harness. everything went on the as soon as i removed my hand from the harness everything died. simple solution was the harness plug had worked loose, tightened it down and sent the customer on their way

I owned a firechicken once, all the dash wiring was eaten by mice. Took me months to get it to run.. Lol

Anyways, I googled it. And it might be, my broken cig lighter, a crappy hookup on the stereo (I'm sure it's this one) or the visor vanity lights. Will post updates.

Please do, I'm having the same issue with my small light fuse and cant find my diagrams. At first I thought it was something to do with the lighter because I've only ever known my cluster/taillights to go out while I had a phone or something plugged in. But I was just out for a drive, nothing plugged in, and the stereo went dead for a few seconds and I lost my cluster/tails.

I just unplugged my lighter and the fuse stopped popping. Something so insignificant can wait for a good looking over, haha. It's bloody hot outside.

Well, turns out it was my 'dimmer' wire for my Sony stereo that wasn't used, it wasn't covered and was grounding out. It was the orange wire. And if it's touching anything when the lights are turned on, it will blow the fuse. Also about the cig lighter, there is a little sleeve that the ground wire attaches to. It that tang for the wire is bent or the sleeve is touching as far as I know that will cause some headaches. Could also be the passenger side visor light. The wires get frayed over the years, and can short too the roof of the car. That is all I have for now.
