I have a '93 CB9 automatic and the trans has been acting up. When I shift into D4 the car takes forever to get u to speed. If I start in 1st and go to 2nd nothing happens which means 1st isn't working. When I shift from 2nd to 3rd, it shifts normally. But when I shift from 3rd to 4th nothing happens. So 1st and 4th don't work, and if I'm on the highway at 70mph, the rpms are at 3k-3200. I've switch the TCM out with a new one, and there's fluid in the trans. I'd really like to fix this ASAP because this is my DD. Any help is appreciated

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Fluids are normal, but I will change the fluids because I know it's been 5, maybe more, years since it's been changed (I've officially owned it for 2 months) If fresh fluids don't work, what's next? 5-speed swap? lol'93 LX Wagon (On the back burner)

when d4 light or "s" light stay on, means tcu
also, there's a blue connector, with a green and orange wire next to the passenger side kick panel, use a wire and jump it, the d4 light should start blinking, count the blinks and tell us the codes
you could also try both solenoids, shifts and lock-ups if you cant get it to blink

A 5 speed swap would certainly fix the problem.
I say check for error codes anyway. If you get none, perhaps try another TCU (if you can get your hands on one easily enough... find a friend that will let you borrow theirs.)'93 LX Wagon (On the back burner)

sounds like the transmission is in limp mode thats exactly what happened with my 91 cb7 when it needed a fluid change and the solenoids cleaned and one replaced, whats happening is you are starting off in second gear no matter wether your in d4 or in first gear and when u shift to 3rd gear its actually jumping in to 4th gear and if your battery is really really low on juice it will cause your solenoids not work either just figured that out the other day my high pressure line on my powersteering hose has been leaking for quite some time and also was rusted onto the rack and pinion so bad that i thought it would never come off finnally got it the other day causing my alt belt to slip resulting in a low charged battery after i changed the hose and got everything clean and back together i put a trickle charge on the battery all night and presto the blinking sport light and limp mode that had been going on for almost a week was gone instantly

Ok here's an update, when I thought I had changed the TCM to my new one, I actually installed my old one. Stupid me LOL. I opened up the old TCM and it's burnt up. I put the new one in and now it shifts great, but now the D4 light is blinking. Could it be because the new one is from a CD?'93 LX Wagon (On the back burner)
