Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    oil leak on the timing side of enigine

    like the title says i have a oil leak from the timing side of the motor. im trying to figure out where the leak is coming from. i have to put like half a quart of oil in every week. oil pan was soaked in oil and dirt i cleaned that off and it hasnt got oil or dirt on it. its a little wet up by the valve cover i tightened the bolts a little. and im still leaking from somewhere. i have a fealing its the cam seal. i went to a mechanic he said the same thing and that i should get a water pump, oil pump timing belt and the seal. can anyone help me with some steps to figure this crap out

    Have you taken the valve cover off and inspected the gasket? I am no expert but I had some pretty bad oil leaks from my valve cover gasket. Also, a mechanic recommended several repairs. Not surprising. Have you looked at any of the parts yourself, including the cam seal?

      Do the valve cover gasket its cheap as hell then if it doesn't fix it its prob your cam seal as it is very common.

        youre not going to lose that much oil from the valve covers since it isnt exposed to anything really pressurized. try looking at the main seal and theres also a TSB on balance shaft seals.

          what is a TSB? the tensioner?

            TSB is technical service bulletin. I'd take the valve cover and upper timing cover off and check from there. It's really hard to tell until you actually look.
