ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Radiator Hose???

Alright, well i noticed a lil hissing noise after turning the engine off last night when i got home from work. I tried to find the source of the leak but couldnt find it. I had a lil break today at work so i rushed home to be able to chill for the longest time possible
anyway, the leak was louder so i popped the hood and noticed antifreeze spraying out of the large hose coming out of the radiator

doesnt seem too serious of a job but i wanted to know the best way to tape it up to avoid further issues. this old guy that i used to get to do a lil work on my previous cars said something about this type of tape that he puts on all hoses throughout the car to ensure no leaks for a long long time if ever.

    any advice?

cut it where the hole is then stick it back in. Its a good temp fix.

i'd rather replace it once and for all. either way when he removes the hose, coolant will leak out and he will have to top it off and bleed all the air back out of the system. Why do it more than once?

Yes agree ^ cut where the leaky hole is at and plug the hose back in and dont forget to clamp it down again.

Don't try to fix that hose
That the hose is bloated....That means replace it because it IS getting ready to blow...

no tape just use the clamps. Careful with those clamps when you take them out they like to fly.

Oem is the best but any new hose will work fine.
If the top hose looks that bad it makes me wonder what the bottom one looks like.

I have never had a hose go bad on me. Most of them are stock. I will replace one if it looks like its going bad.

Any advice on bleeding the air out and making sure the hose is working?

there is a bleed valve on the thermostat housing to get air out of that side of the sytem, my method is to replace the hose, refill the radiator, start the car and let it idle until it warms up and you see the coolant level go down when the thermostat open, then top it off and you should be good
