ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Need Input On Cel Codes

Ok, so my cel came on the other day, i pulled the codes. 8-tdc sensor, 17-vss, 20-electrical load detector, and 41-oxygen sensor. Oxygen sensor, I get it, switch it out no problem, Vss eh everything works, not really concerned. But the tdc sensor, from what i've read i need to replace the distributor, and the Electrical Load Detector, I need to replace the fuse box under the hood..I'm wondering how serious is it that i make these repairs? What is the actual purpose of replacing the parts? Do they affect the drivability of the car or functionality of anything? Or are they codes that are tripped by another faulty part, in this case the oxygen sensor i would guess. Any input on this? Also have you ever used a "universal" oxygen sensor like the ones on ebay? thanks

Before you rush and do any thing, you need to know all your codes have one thing in common, poor or intermittent electrical connection, get a can of electrical cleaner and some dielectric grease, pull all your connections clean them up and re-grease, clear the codes (pull fuse 24 7.5 amps) go for a drive see what pops up then take it from there.

Haha i'm not in a rush to do anything thats why I asked if those repairs were necessary. I will clear the codes and see what comes back though, thanks i don't know why i didn't do that. I replaced the header and downpipe a week ago and the oxy. sensor looked pretty burnt when i switched it over so i wasn't surprised when it threw the code for that. Will report back my findings thanks

Well I cleared the codes, went for a drive and checked them again, it's only throwing 41 for the oxy. sensor now so that should do it, Thanks again
