ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I need input on my f23a1 swap

So I have a f23a1 with 60k, It is 150 hp bone stock. I think with a good tune and intake/header and some other small upgrades I can be up to 170 hp. People say the f23 vtec head sucks.
How meany hp do you think I can gain if I put a f22a head on?
Keep in mind that The f23 is higher compression then the f22

I hope you'r not thinking you will make 170whp with just bolt ons.As we all know the F22A flows best out of the F's, but unless you plan to upgrade the valve train i see no point in swaping heads. You will not gain a thing by swaping unless you are going to upgrade(Cam,Springs, retainers etc).An there really is no point in getting a bolt on engine car tuned IMO that $300+ for 5whp if that could go else where. So if you're going to build something(build means more than I/H/E) then sure the Swap could/would be beneficial since the f22a head flows better....but if you are not then it be a waste just like putting desel in a zebras anal cavity.

Crank hp.Like you said the f22a flows the best and I have a extra f22a head so I am asking will it be worth it to swap the head?

IMO, the head swap is not going to be worth it on an N/A build.
I don't think you're going to see a 20 hp increase from bolt ons, but you don't mention what the "other small upgrades" are that are being considered. If a cam and exhaust are part of them, than yes, you'll probably get 20 hp out of it.
Also, you've been here for 6 months, have the post count, why not check and ask about this in the big kid swap section?

I would swap the head over, however just because the static compression of the F23 is said amount, doesn't mean it'll be the same with the F22A head. Could drop or go up. Or you could mash valves. Dont know unless you clay it.
