ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

dash charging warning ligth fails to come on when ignition switch is on.

92 honda accord lx auto f22a1

issue. my dash charging indicator ligth fails to come on while ignition switch is on but engine is off. all other ligths do their job and come on when the switch is on then disapear when i turn the engine over. this ligth used to come on and now im wondering why it stoped. i just put in a new working alternator in the car because my last alternator failed ( voltage regulator ) and this ligth failed to show up when i had the bad alternator in so i figured it will come on again as soon as i put in my new working one. i know it works because the car has full power now and i took it to advanced auto to get it tested before installing it.

any ideas will help thanks in advance

The bulb is in the gauge cluster. You need to remove the cluster to check it.

the bulb is probably bad since it doesn't come on during the ''bulb check'' part of starting the car. later.

You will need to remove the plastic as if you were going to install a new radio then there are 4 bolts holding the cluster in undo those and undo the 3 clips and then pull the cluster out its a lil painstaking but just take your time. once out just go thru and look for bulbs that look black and replace.

thanks i will check the bulb A.S.A.P. lets just say i check the bulb and they all seem fine( even replace the bulb just to make sure? ) and the ligth still fails to come on. what can i conclude in that situtation? i just ask this because it migth be a hastle to get to this bulb, should i check for anything else before checking the bulb? and are these bulbs some that i can buy at any local auto store?

For this question I would wait for someone else to answer. But all i can say is check your fuses and make sure all your wires to your alternator are nice and snug and have no corrision.

If you want check the complete circuit, do as follows:

                      - Turn the ignition off.

                      - Check fuse #2 dash fuse box.
                      - Bad, Replace. Turn ignition switch on. Does it light up?
                      - YES. Good to go.
                      - NO, Go to next step below.

                      - Good, Disconnect the 4 pin connector at the alternator.

                      - Turn the ignition switch on.

                      - Check for voltage on the BLK/YEL wire on the 4 pin connector.

                      The connector looks like this:

                      - Is there battery voltage?
                      - NO, Repair the open in the BLK/YEL wire.*

                      - YES, ground the WHT/BLU wire on the 4 pin connector.

                      - Does the light come on now?
                      - NO, check for a blown bulb. If the bulb is okay, repair the open in the WHT/BLU wire. **
                      - YES, replace the voltage regulator. It is in the Alternator. Or just replace the alternator.

This is why I always check the bulb first. You end up checking it anyways

                      * goes to the dash fuse box and fuse #2 15A

** goes to the gauge cluster charging light.
