Hello i just did a h23 intake swap a couple months ago and it was running fine and just the other day i went to start my car and the secondary runner butterflies open wide up and it revs to 4500rpm what would cause them to just now do that? And they are running off vacuum right now until i can afford new computer to wire it right.

with secondary runners open or closed, it wont cause idle to rev that high. either you have a really bad vacuum leak or something is causing it to dump fuel -
Pull your intake tube off and see if the throttle body plate is open or closed. I'm going to guess it's sticking open or the car would never make 4500 rpms just on fuel. Check your throttle linkage and see if you can find a reason for it to bind up or if something is catching it.Comment

did you install the manifold support bracket when you put the h23 intake manifold on? If not, you may have cracked the IM at the flange. this has actually happened to me twice

the throttle body plate is closed bc i had my sister start it while i was under the hood and when i touch that butterfly it reved higher. With the linkage bound up wouldn't that make the thottle body open too? And the back backet is hooked up.Comment

Thanks guys. Visualpoet you were right the throttle plate was slightly open that i didn't notice last night. I must have pull the cable to hard when I was moving it out of the way when I was replacing my proportion valve. Thanks again guys.Comment

hey did you put the h23 on a f22? if so can you tell me where you hooked up you VAC hoses? the ones marked 20, 24, and 8. i figured the hose marked 21 went into the TB. so i did that but not sure if i put the rest of the hoses in the correct places on the h23. i have a thread with pics. can you help?
