ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Manual to Power Windows Help

I have a 1990 dx with 45,000 miles. I have recently collected all the interior parts to make my interior all black. However, the black leather door panels i have, have power window, locks, mirror switches. Would it be possible to Switch all 4 doors from a 90lx to my 90dx and just wire it up to my car? And obviusly i would need all the wires, but i really need some help in what i need to do with the wiring harness? I am pretty clueless

Converting to power windows using OEM wiring is going to be tough. The best way to do that would be to take the whole harness from an LX and swap it over. You could add the wires, but your best bet there would be to get a wiring diagram and follow it. Of course, wiring diagrams are a pain in the nuts to read.

Try going to a junkyard and pulling apart a few cars. Junkyards are the best way to learn. They're like hands-on manuals! Take things apart without worrying about breaking your own car.

I hate those kits... but that IS the easiest way to do it.

believe me, i have thought about buying one of those kits. but i thought it would be so much easier to get doors with power already in them. when you say wiring harness, how many wires are in that? common sense would tell me i could just connect the wires from the new doors to a power source? idk

I would think getting new doors with everything already installed would be easier. That way you would only have to pull the doors and wire out of the donor car.

If you buy a power window kit it will probably cost you more money, and you are still going to have to run wire and get the connectors and stiff for the locks and mirrors. Not to mention take the windows out and put in the power stuff.

In my opinion, this just sounds like a big pain in the ass. AND you have to worry about more stuff to fix if it fails later.

easiest way to do it is pull the doors off with a the panels in tack along with the wires that run to the power supply for the auto everything out of the donor car. then as you pulled them off do the process backwards when putting them on your car. it really cant be that hard casue everything is already wired up for you in the door all you have to do is plug the harness into where the old one came off of the parts/donor car and there ya go easy as that man. hope you the best..
