ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Better Suspension ...

Well I've delt with this since I put my wheels on the CB (over a year now) and I'm tired of it . My suspension is HORRIBLE ! My car bounces like crazy going over bridges or bumpy roads , like it goes from left to right but at different times on each tire if that makes sense . When I make a turn , if there's any kind of bump or hole in the road the rear end of the car will swing around . Anytime I go over a dip in the road with anybody else in the car , my back tires scrape against the wheel wells . My back passenger tire also bounces going down the road . It's been peeling bad on the edge . I changed all the struts but the car does the same thing (cheap eBay replacements) . Any suggestions on a good suspension setup ?? I don't wanna lower the car at all . My tire size in 225/40-18 btw .

Get new oem spec springs and some koni dampeners. Also check bushings and balljoints.

are you looking to lower it when replacing parts or stay at same ride height?

Stay at same ride height . I'm afraid if I lower it , my tires would rub even more . If forced to lower it , it wouldn't be any more than 1.5 inches .

You could probably get away with some mild springs. There are some decent ones (I believe Eibach makes some) that will lower your car just about 1".

Anyway, new springs, new bushings, new quality shocks (Koni STR.T is a very good choice, and affordable as well!). Make sure your wheels are aligned, and your tires are in good condition. Balding tires can be just as responsible for losing grip around bumps as bad suspension.

dude your scraping your tires? I think you have other issues.

Eibach prokit is a very very mild drop. And from a factory standpoint, its much nicer. The car doesnt even look lowered and the ride smoothness is excellent. I had prokits on oem struts and it was nice, not as bumpy. I can clear speedbumps no problems. When I upgraded the struts the springs came alive.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I wouldn't use OEM struts with those, though. The drop may be mild, but it's still a drop... and the spring rate is higher. OEM struts aren't made for that, and won't respond as they should, especially at the limit.

Oh I know. They were fine, but didnt last to long. Maybe 4 years...just like the kyb gr2 lol.

The GR2 is at least made for a spring rate that's 15% higher than stock... so they can handle a slight performance upgrade.

I mean, for simple, uneventful rolling around, such things are fine. But if you're racing, driving the car very hard, or if you have to make a panic maneuver (slam on the brakes or cut the wheel), they may not do what they're supposed to do. When you need the car to respond the most, it might not do so... Properly matched suspension components are extremely important.

I personally think the gr2 just can't hold up. In the accord after 2 years you can feel it lacking. In my Nissan same. In my vans front struts after a year the quality of the ride has gone down. I guess IM just biased lol.

Now bilsteins and promote are another story. Rides like a brand new Acura.

As for the op, why are you rubbing...are you running different wheels or something

Bilstein is amazing stuff. If they had an adjustable shock for our cars that was priced the same as Koni Yellows, I might have them instead. Their non-adjustables are fantastic, but I like to be able to play with my Konis!

About your tires rubbing. What offset are they? Its printed inside the rim. The 225 might be too wide. I have 215/18 and a 2" drop. There is only a 1/8th to a 1/4 inch clearence on the edge of the wheel well. But no rubbing. Even with 4 heads in the car. Where exactly is it rubbing in the well?
