ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

using lx motor to replace ex motor

now i know this site has an engine sticky somewhere i saw it longg ago but im using the search function but im guessing i got to get real specific to use it correctly..but anyways as titles says. im not 100% sure but i thinking fitments wouldn't be no problem but would things like harness and ecu come into play?

    the real differences would be

    F22A1

    F22A4

    F22A6

certain brackets won't be the same there are different a/c brackets for 90-91, 92-93, and i believe that there can be differences for those years by trim as well (ex. lx vs ex)

also rear motor mount brackets are different from lx to ex and automatic from manual

it really depends on the year ex you have, to the lx you have.

There isnt much of any difference. Put most of the ex parts on the lx then you got a standard ex.

as for the compressor and alternator bracket im not sure. Go to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com to see if they are the same for both years or model cars. If anything, you may just have to replace very little..drop it in and call it a day.

If you are going from a ex to a lx, you dont have to worry about IAB's at all...and if you have an EX with IAB's then all you do is use the manifold and the same ecu. No issues.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

The engines themselves are VERY similar. It's just the parts bolted to them that are different.

The engines are all damn near identical. It IS an easy install.

If you use the LX motor to replace your EX motor, you'll actually have LESS to hook up... however, you can take parts from your EX motor and put them on the LX motor to gain that lost power (5hp for the 90-91 models, 15hp for the 92-93 models.)

                  sorry...
reason why is i thought maybe i would have to cut into the harness or something like that and im not experienced with doing things like modifying electrical things..

so the lx engine will drop into the motor mounts? also what does IAB mean? been here for awhile but just never really visited enough to catch onto the slang..sorry again
