ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Honda should of put brake lines inside the car

2 weeks ago I put a line from the right rear to the front splitter, inside the car along the floor. Now I just blew another brake line on the other side.On my 91 prelude,I never had to fix a brake line on that car since I have owned it because they put the lines inside the car.Getting a little annoyed with fixing brake lines on this car.

I've had the metal brake lines in the rear seize together and shear before it broke loose and the fuel line rust through right where it bends up to go to the tank on the 4th gen Accord. The brake line I got from the junkyard but every 4th gen in the yard had rust all over the fuel line in the same area so I ended up getting a brand new oem. It's probably the20+ years of salt they get exposed to in the winter in this area.

One line rusted out somewhere over the gas tank and the other one burst down by the brake hose in the left rear.

the oem lines should have anti-rust coating. I live in MN and I've never seen a OEM honda brake line rust through.

I could see if something scrapped it or puntured it but not just rusing all by itself.

                    Weird..
If you worried about it rusting out again, after you replaced it, spray a bunch of undercoat over the lines.

Brake lines rust from the inside, as well, which weakens them and then at some point they blow at a weak point.

Especially in cars that don't have their brake fluid swapped out every year like you are ideally supposed to. Brake fluid absorbs water from the air, and water accumulates in the fluid over time and it causes the lines to rust from the inside.

If I were you, I'd replace ALL of the hard lines as soon as I could. Then you'll be good.

or just wait for them all to blow one by one, either way.

Its rare but i seen brake lines rust out. But its usually because of a shit load of moisture in the brake system

                        Its rare as hell
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

                        Retro!

the previous owner of my car told me he had new brakelines put in my car too because "he was worried" they would blow. i live in the NW where it snows but once a year, so salt isnt an issue.

                          Where in canada are you?
