ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

This has nothing to do with Accord tech or performance, it doesn't even have anything to do with cars at all.

Kind of seems like a troll or spam type thread....lol

    I'll humor you,
This product that you have posted that you are looking at for upgrading your current house. Not going to be very cost effective. You may want to look into something else. IIRC these ICF are really for new construction. Maybe an Icynene spray foam insulation or maybe even blowing in a couple more inches of insulation into your attic would be more cost effective on an older home.

Unless you are looking to build a new foundation the ICF aren't what your looking for.

There are a number of options--the best for an existing wall would be to blow in insulation , then tyvek wrap the whole house to stop air infiltration, then reside.

With fiberglass insulation, fitting the insulation exactly to the panels is crucial. AND fiberglass does not stop airflow AT ALL so if the building skin isn't properly air sealed fiberglass alone won't keep heat in (because air can easily move through fiberglass--in fact, fiberglass is often used as an air filter for this reason).

If you want to go whole hog, on older houses like Victorians and other 100 year old + houses, people doing a deep energy retrofit have taken the approach of covering the whole exterior of the house with, say, 2 x 6 (making 6 inch deep "insulation bays" on the outside of the house) and insulating the whole outside of the house with spray foam or panel foam, wrapping it when done, then siding. This has the benefit that you can massively increase the depth of total insulation on the dwelling.
