ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Well before you go buying a new ECU remove that chip and put the sensor back on and reset your ECU and see if the light goes out.

good call bro i will do that first but someone mention to me that ecu mostlikely go bad when water and moisture hits it and i did have a water problem in my car( i was driving without the splash shield in the passengers side underneath the fender and above the tire ) a good amount of water was getting in for about a month and a half. it was soaking my carpet on the rigth side of the car passengers side and most of all behind passenger side back seat ( i have a sedan ) so i totally understand if mine is soaked or damaged ( i fixed the problem now and no more swimming pool inside my car )

ok guys so i just took out the perf. chip (ecu chip that replaces IAT sensor ) and put in stock IAT sensor but no different reaction. car still acts poorly with its miss at time to shift ( like i mention on another thread ) the only difference was the startup idle, it sounded better in that part. cel remains on like it always has and when i jump the harness i get the same solid cel on and the code 14 d4 ligth. ecu still toasted rigth? ima remove that next to look for any signs of damage but just thought i let u guys know about that chip i just removed cus shadow 1992 suggested it

and thanks a lot so far for the ideas, support and thoughts.

You removed the chip, but it sounds like you didn't reset your ECU. Pull the "radio/backup" fuse, and/or disconnect your battery for about 30 minutes. That should reset the ECU and clear any codes if the problem has been corrected.

ATCU? TCU? The transmission computer? That will do it.

how can i tell if my ECU/TCU is not working. my TCU gives out code 14 and my ECU stays solid. i disconnected them, took them a part and they both had minor greenish whiteish oxidation on the outside and the ECU had some oxidation on the inside on one side a liitle bit.i sort off wiped what i could off ( cleaned it a bit i guess ) put them back in and the car acts the same. ( i had the negative disconnected while i took them off and put them back in )
