ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Thanks so much for all the responses.

Thanks a ton BBCorvette18 for that link, it helps me out so much.

I pulled my TCU out and found the same faults, leaking capacitor and burnt resister. Next will be a trip to radio shack for parts.

This past sunday my accord downshifted to second on the highway, which scared me quite a bit, and ran horrible all day. I hope this fixes it.

Ok I replaced 1 resistor and 2 capacitor and plugged the TCU back in. When I started the car up the cel came on immediately and it ran rough. In d4 it felt like it started in 2nd. I accelerated but it didn't shift. Instead of shifting it seem to slip or go in to neutral. It started running worse and wanted to stall i had to manually shift to 1st and second to drive. I parked back in my driveway and let it idle a little. The S-light was flashing randomly on and off and I could hear the interlock module clicking. And it smelled really bad because it was running so rough. I checked for any codes by jumping the service connector but got none. The only thing I noticed was clicking from the ecu/TCU area and the s-light stayed on when the connector was jumped. Next I removed the ecu fuse from the under hood fuse box for a few minutes and then started it again. Nothing changed.

I have no idea what is going on.

All I can think of is that one of the capacitors was a little different from the original.
Or I messed up the ecu harness when I was trying to get the tcu out.

The ECU fuse isn't the one you pull to reset the ECU/TCU. You pull the one marked "radio/backup".

It's very possible that you did something wrong when soldering the capacitors... though I don't see how the TCU would cause the car to run rough. Hopefully more damage wasn't done!

I would try using a known-working TCU borrowed from someone else... there must be another CB7tuner member near you that would help out. One more post and you'll be able to get into the Regional sections to find out.

It was late last night when i plugged the tcu back in and didn't notice that one of the ecu harnesses was unplugged, so needless to say it runs much better. But the s-light issues are still present and the car is pretty much undriveable. Also I unplugged the shift lock module to see what would happen all that did was make the shifter lock. Now after I plugged it back in I still can't shift it without the override button pushed. I did notice that the s-light blicks when I shift from p to r. I am going to take the console off and check the wiring around the shifter and interlock.

I am beginning to think this car was rebuilt with some shoddy work done as far as the wiring.
