ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Rear Vent window replacement help.

I have had my darn CB for near a week and someone has ruined my fun and tried to break into it. thankfully my alarm system deterred them from stealing anything or causing any further damage. what they DID do was break my passenger side vent window. surprisingly enough i acquired a replacement from a local dude who is an enthusiast, but i can not seem to figure out how to install it.

TL;DR How do i go about replacing my rear vent window? (pictured with vinyl over the break.)

    thanks in advance guys.

I haven't changed one of those in awhile but I think you move the ruber trim around the window and there is some screws you take of to move the black bar that holds the window on place.

thanks! I'll go take a look. I just cant bring myself to pay a window guy 50 bucks to throw it in. I think i will be stubbon and justs rock the vinyl until i can figure out how to throw the new one in.

i didnt get around to tearing into it today, it was the first non-rainy day in a while, and when you live in the pacific northwest you pack as much into a sunny day as you can because they are few and far between. ahahhaha. Tomorrow though, tomorrow.

Be careful when installing these as they are tricky and if no installed correctly they can leak. I used to be a claims adjuster and I asked our glass company which glass is the most expensive to replace it is always the smaller windows in a car which is the first thing everyone busts they also said it is the toughest one to install.

i am not quite sure why people go for that small window when they break into a car just to nab a stereo. Do they think they are doing you a favor by picking the smallest piece of glass to break? i would have rather had my driver side door glass busted, at least that would FORCE me to open up the door panel and install my replacement window motor that i have been putting off. hahaha.

I have tore into it pretty deep and i am to the point where i just NEED it in, so i went down to a local glass shop and shot the breeze with the installer for about 45 min and he is coming over when he gets of work to do a "cash sidejob". i figure that thirty bucks will save me a lot more hassle and keep me leak free! whaddaya gunna do.

Agree, bust something I can replace easily and if it is tinted it doesn't leave a mess all over my car either.

                      $30 isn't bad at all.
