No clutch pressure

    No clutch pressure

So this is an odd problem on my DD accord. After the car sits overnight the clutch pressure is nearly gone, and engages just off the floor. After driving for 15-20minutes the clutch will have full pressure and engage at the top.

I have a new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder that have just over 1000miles on them and I have bled the clutch several times with the same result in the end.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

It's not a huge deal just another small problem. Mileage on the clutch is unknown and I'm sure replacement isnt far away either.

Same thing happened to me. Then eventually my clutch slave went out. I know I had some air bubbles in the clutch lines and made it go to the floor every now and then. But who knows, there could be something else going on.

Hmmm. The clutch pressure comes back after driving, or is it just because you've worked the clutch a bunch of times? I'm guessing the latter, and it's just incidental that this happens after 15 minutes of driving.

If rebleeding the clutch lines doesn't help, check for visible leaks at the slave cylinder (if you can't see one outside the slave cylinder, and you don't see leaking anywhere else you can pry and pull the boot back off the slave cylinder body carefully with a screwdriver to double check) or the master cylinder (slightly unbolt the master cuylinder from the firewall so you can check behind it to see if it's leaking out the back against the firewall or into the brake booster). If you see no visible leaks, then you may have an internal leak in your master cylinder, in which case simply replace the master cylinder.

I'd be sure that I fully bled the system well before doing any of that though.

          good luck.

I had this problem with my green accord

the salve cylinder had a leak in it, after driving around i would slowly push fluid through the whole system out the leak it had and it would work great.

sounds like you might have a air bubble trapped in the line somewhere.

this sounds to me like the OP's problem.

OP, if you have a mystery clutch hydraulic system problem like you are describing, it always comes down to either a leak (which creates air in the line) or air in the line. The fact that you can depress the clutch pedal a couple of times, then the clutch hydraulic system seems ok, says to me that you are likely losing a *small* amount of fluid that is creating a small air pocket at the working end of the hydraulic line (at the bottom) which can then be forced out . The slave cylinder seems a good candidate.

Take some masking tape and mark your clutch fluid reservoir tomorrow when you get up.

Check it against the level in one week, I think you'll see a small drop there to verify you are losing fluid.

Another possibility for a leak location is somewhere on the hydraulic line itself. Uncommon, but not unheard of. Given that the problem goes away so fast when operating the clutch pedal.
