ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Rear defrost not working

So the rear defrost is not working and I believe it is the button itself. It will not turn on upon depression. I have tried to trace the electrical for it to no avial. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the cheap and easy fixes first.

is there anything else not working? like the cigarette lighter? interior light?

if so, could be a broken fuse... Check there first (all of them) before digging too deep. Fuses are cheap.

    hope that helps.

It could just be the button go to the junk yard and pull one off. shouldn't be more than a couple of bucks. But also make sure it's hooked up in the back. Because maybe the light is just blown on the button.

Its the fuse that says interior light (under hood) btw...
          that fuse connects to:
          seatbelt light
          seatbelt chime
          lights on chime
          keys in car chime
          door lights on door panel
          open door light on cluster
          cigarette lighter
          of course defroster
          and the power antennae

but it also may just be the light in the button itself. some rear defrosters are slow and maybe you have turned yours on and havent given it enough time.

if not, trace the wire from the rear defroster to the switch.

it just seems kinda odd to have a bad button

i DO know the fuse for the defrost is in the interior panel(on my 93 ex). when this fuse blows, your blower wont work either. it says rear defrost/blower motor or something like that on the fuse panel. also do u know its actually not working?because it could just be the bulb out.

under the hood fuse box labeled interior light: 15A fuse. Does the cigarette lighter / accessory as well. So if your button and cigarette lighter not working then i would say its the fuse. it doesn't hurt to check either, takes a minute.
