ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Replace your timing belt and water pump if its due.Maybe flush your tranny and rad. There is not a 200k service last time I checked. My Se has 180,900 (but I am not shure how meany on the rebuild but its less then that)and all I want to do to it is the tranny flush. You can really take the mileage up super high on our cars and they dont require alot of crap done to keep them running, My green EX has 269.700 on it and I hot rod the crap out of it and it still has lots of life in it.

You wanna change your timimg belt and water pump at around every 60k.
Be sure to stay on top of your water hoses as well, heater hose, etc ..
The inexpensive parts seem to be the ones that fail most .. and cause the most $$ damage.

PakaloloHonda and snakeman34 are wrong. you replace the timing belt and water pump every 90k on our cars.(I know that and its in the book) you only replace it every 90k under normal daily driving.

I like how in the owners manual the timing belt service at 90k is recommended only, not required lol. I guess thats true you don't need a timing belt untill it breaks

but if it brakes you MIGHT also need a valve job.
Ill say replace them at 90k if its just your daley driver but if you run your car very hard do it at 60k

My motor has 262,3xx on it. Motor and trans runs awesome. Little oil leak but I bought every seal and gasket. Just to make sure they will not fail. Bought new timing belt and waterpump too. Show me an american car that runs with these kinda miles.

the timing belt is 60K for severe service (DDing in stop/go traffic, extreme climates, etc.) 90k for lighter duty (garaged grandma car, putt putting to the store every couple of days.) Or every 6 years, due to the rubber degrading and it being a critical part.

I had a grandma Accord a couple of years ago, 80k mi 91 sedan. Timing belt had never been changed. rot was crazy bad tho, it was from Long Island.

SO nothing special, just keep up with the maintenance.
