ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

What? Coolant 50/50 at the store is 12.99.

That line at Honda is no more than 15 bucks at most. If your in a bind then get a universal coolant hose from the autostore that's the right size.

The auto store might even have it.

If you really want to be cheap go to the junkyard and grab a few of them.

That hose is the bypass hose for the throttle body.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

idk, every time i ask someone at a shop they charge so much money to do something.

im just talking about the labor really, not the part. i just don't wanna mess anything up when installing, like kinking a hose or something.

You cant mess up anything thats already broken.

Even a caveman can do it. If you dont want to drain the coolant:

Get a pair of pliers and squeeze the clamp and move it up, then do the same to the other clamp and move it down.

You may have to get the pliers and grab the rubber hose where it meets the metal nipple and break the seam or the very small bond between the rubber hose and the metal, very minimal effort.

          Have the new hose ready.

Pop it off and coolant will drip.

Take the old clamps and put it on the new hose, then slide on the hose.

Clamp down the hose, top off cooling system

Rinse the area where coolant got in the engine bay

          and drink a beer.

Its so easy even Maple here cant fuk it up!

That's a coolant line. You don't need to get any special hose for that and you will only need pliers to move the clamp and a few inches of bulk coolant hose. So there's really no need to go the the dealer or get a shop to do it. You don't even have to drain the coolant to change it. Some of it might dribble out but it won't be much.

You can buy the coolant hose at any auto store (if I recall, it's 3/8 or 5/16). They may only sell by the foot but it's cheap and you'll have extra for changing another one in that area in the future or now if you can visually see a hose going bad. A foot of that and 2 hose clamps should be around $5. Tape is fine to get you to the store but not a good permanent fix.
