ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    ROH question

Hey guys just a quick question about the ROH conversion using the acura CL hub.

The CL bearing is incompatible on the Accord correct?

I feel like it's a stupid question, but I just wanted to confirm because I am having a difficult time finding just the CL hub locally.

I did a quick search for the answer to my question. But couldn't find it specifically, so I figured I would create a new thread it since the threads I was reading are still locked since I'm a newb and couldn't post in the section they were in.

    Thanks

you mean the wheel bearing? it should be the same as the accords from 90-93.

You may have to order them off the net, i ordered two CL wheel hubs from Bernardi Acura of Boston. I don't remember how much they were though, somewhere around 100 bucks a side.

You need to use your stock bearing ( new stock bearing ) with the CL hub.

The wheel bearing yes. My stock one's are shot (as well as my driver side caliper) so they need to be replaced anyway. I figured I may as well do the entire ROH coversion now.

I just wanted affirmation that the '98 CL wheel bearings do not work on the 90-93 Accord (unless they do?). I am only asking because I am having a hard time finding a '98 CL hub only. The parts shops around here only have '98 CL hub assemblies (bearing already pressed onto hub).

Found a site and price is $65 ea. for the hub. Is that a decent price? (never had to order this part before, so idk?). This has just been a very hard week personally, and now my caliper has failed prompting this side-project.

        Thanks again

The 4cyl CL front wheel bearing is the same as the 90-97 Accords. So yes, the 98 CL front bearing with the hub already pressed in will fit your car. But make sure you double check what they are selling you. Some of the parts stores will tell you it's bearing and hub set because it's listed under "axle bearing and hub assembly" BUT it's actually only the bearing or they are talking about the rear bearing which has the bearing built-in.

The hubs by themselves are kind of hard to find (used, dealer, or TASauto). Someone mentioned 98+ Accord 4cyl hubs also work. I know Dorman makes these (part number 930452) and only run about $20 each on Rockauto. I will be trying this shortly on a friend's car.

Okay cool, I guess I will just pick them up locally and I suppose if the whole CL assembly is not right, or does not fit I can return it easily enough. I'll read through the ROH threads some more before I go order the parts now that I got a little extra time.

Don't get the hubs from '98 accords that are ROH because the insides splines won't work. There is a thread somewhere in the DIY that talks about the difference between the 98 CL hubs and the accord hubs.

If I find it I'll post it.

Will do, my car needs a lot of help. Picking up a '93 EX coupe trunk lid and rear disc conversion tomorrow as well. Going to be broke as hell for 2 weeks, but can't pass it up.
